Know the value you are looking for and find it.
Providing an independent assessment of your software system, from Point-of-Service to the back-end, to evaluate its effectiveness, and make recommendations for changes to improve outcomes.
The assessment report will cite proficiencies and deficiencies of your software system and highlight areas where incremental changes can make substantial improvements, and provide long term product development recommendations.
• Are you getting the value you expected?
• Does the UI promote accurate data collection?
• Do you know which features are used the most?
• How well are exceptional use cases handled?
• Are you reviewing program usage patterns?
• Do your reports make sense?
• Are you collecting enough data for future analysis?
• Is there enough logging to effectively resolve issues when they occur?
If you produce a software solution you typically have several components that work together. Some components are produced in house and some are from a third-party. The user application, web service, and database typically have three different authors, with their three different views of the solution’s purpose and scope. The usual focus of software development is for the most common flows that are expected at the point of service. Meanwhile, the trickiest use cases are often not given sufficient consideration in the implementation.
In my engagement with you we will review
- The requirements documents and functional specifications
- The use cases used by development and QC
- The QA test plans and test results
- The database schema
- The SDKs from third-party vendors
- The operation of the software in depth, especially for exceptional use cases
- The use of the software, at the live point-of-service
- The data in the database
- The log files
